On Friday, February 6, the Army National Guard completed an important mission at the Grafton Elementary School. Since October of 2008, students at the Grafton school have been collecting items to send to soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Grafton Youth Commission is sponsoring a Guptill’s roller skating trip on Friday, February 27, leaving the Grafton Town Hall at 6:30 pm. All are welcome! To sign-up or for more information, call Michelle at 658-9838.
Grafton Lakes State Park will offer three programs over winter break for families. A snowshoe hike on Saturday, February 14, will run from 10 am to 12 pm. Nature Detectives, a program on animal tracking, will be held on February 18 from 10 to 11:30 am. Winter Survival Skills will be on Friday, February 20, from 1 to 2:30 pm.

Soldiers from the New York Army National Guard’s 42nd Special Troop Battalion, based in Troy, will be at Grafton Elementary School Friday morning, February 6, to pick up 20 boxes bound for local National Guard Soldiers serving in Iraq.
