Polish Hall Turkey Contest Adult And Youth

The Polish hall will hold a turkey contest, open to the public, for all adult and youth hunters during the months of April and May.

It was Grange Night on March 13. Master, David Cornell presented the business. Many issues were brought up and discussed. One of these was the legislature needing a raise, and another was the water issue. At our last meeting Natalie Ryan announced on August 27, Shelburn Falls Grange will celebrate its 75th anniversary, in Shelburne Falls, Mass. We are all invited to attend. Ball Fields In Hoosick Falls Are Clean

The EPA has declared the sports fields in Hoosick Falls safe for recreational use, after finding very low levels of PFOA in the soil there. A “Community Update” released by EPA on April 4 said, “Based on the data, the EPA does not plan any further actions at either the ballfields along Waterworks Road or at the Athletic Field on Barton Avenue. The EPA does not see a need for any closure or restriction of any of the fields, which were thoroughly sampled. Therefore, additional investigation is not needed in any of the areas sampled. Schools Will Host ‘Empty Bowls’ Event To Benefit HACA Food Pantry, Recognize Community Volunteers

The Hoosick Falls Central School District is hosting ‘Empty Bowls’, an event that connects art to hunger awareness. The event is a partnership with Hoosac School and St. Mary’s Academy that brings all three schools in the Hoosick community together for a great cause. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Hoosick Area Church Association (HACA) Food Pantry. Additionally, the event will recognize all of the dedicated HACA volunteers by awarding the first ever Community Spirit Award to each of them.
