Brown’s First Anniversary Party To Benefit HF Policeman Nick Colaneri

Electronics Recycling Event October 3

The Rensselaer County Legislature and the County Environmental Management Council are teaming up to sponsor an electronics recycling day, Chair of the Legislature Stan Brownell announced.

The electronics recycling event will be held Saturday, October 3 from 9:30 am to 2 pm. The recycling event will be held at the County Office Building, 1600 7th Avenue, downtown Troy.

The October event follows an electronics recycling event held in April. The Legislature and EMC have teamed up for several electronics recycling events, and have received a great response from residents. [Read more…] about Electronics Recycling Event October 3

Cyclists From Near And Far Proclaim Brown’s Covered Bridge Tour A Success, Vow To Do It Again Next Year

It could not have been a better day for the first-ever Brown’s Brewing Covered Bridge Bicycle Tour. Gorgeous blue skies with a few wispy clouds, absolutely perfect. The riders were excited, yet relaxed, since this was a tour, not a race. Starting and finishing at Brown’s Walloomsac Brewery in Hoosick Falls, the non-competitive ride featured a tour of historic covered bridges over the majestic Hoosick and Battenkill Rivers. Village Working Towards Demolition Of The American House

The Village Board approved a motion to hold a public hearing regarding The American House on Monday, September 28, starting at 6 pm at the Village Hall. The Village has finally gotten a response from the owner of the building; he acknowledged that he did indeed receive a letter from the Village requesting that he or his representative be at the public hearing. Hoosick Hullabaloo Promises Fun For All

Hoosick Hullabaloo, a new Music & Arts Festival kicks off this Friday with three days of events.
The fun begins Friday at 6 pm with the unveiling of the Community Bench Project followed by a ‘Glow Ball in the Falls Night Golf Tournament’ slated for 6 pm at the Hoosick Falls Country Club.
