Hoosick To Consider Regulation Of Solar Farms

At the August 10 Hoosick Town Board meeting, members spent considerable time discussing solar farms and the potential they can have, both positive and negative, for the town. They decided that input from the community is important, and they scheduled a public hearing at 6 pm at the Town offices on August 24. Adria Diel, who is on the Planning Board, said that they had been exploring the possibility of forming a committee to explore the pros and cons of regulating solar farms. For the 10th year the Hoosick Area Church Association is collecting school supplies for its Back-2-School Boost program. Supplies can be left at any HACA Church, the Food Pantry Cart in Tops Market, Thorpes’ Pharmacy or Hoosick Federal Credit Union. Suggested items include: backpacks, crayons, erasers, glue, index cards, highlighters, markers, notebooks, loose leaf paper, tab dividers, three ring binders, pens, pencils, rulers and pencil boxes.
