Starting January 15 at 6:30 pm in the Cheney Library a series of computer classes will begin. These classes have been developed by Sarah McFadden of the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Rensselaer County. The first class will cover Computer Basics, and you will learn the differences between hardware and software as well as the mechanics of email and the web.

HAYC3 Offers Extra Texas Hold’em Tournament
Due to the popularity of our Texas Hold’em Tournaments, HAYC3 is expanding to a second monthly night for the event. The second date for January is Friday, January 16. Newcomers and experienced players are all welcome.
Doors open at 6 pm with play beginning at 6:30. The buy in is $35 with an option for a $10 add-on. The HAYC3 Armory is located at 80 Church Street on the corner of Elm Street in historic downtown Hoosick Falls.

Sweet Sara’s Custom Desserts To Hold Cooking Class At The HAYC3 Armory
Sweet Sara’s Custom Desserts will offer a cooking class just in time for Valentine’s Day. This them based cooking class will be held on Wednesday, January 21, starting at 6 pm.
The “Sweets for Your Sweetheart” cooking class will be taught by Kelly O’Connor of Sweet Sara’s and will feature gourmet recipes in this “hands on” experience. The class will take place in The Hoosick Kitchen, a fully equipped commercially licensed kitchen located in the HAYC3 Armory at 80 Church Street in Hoosick Falls. The fee for the class is $10.

Hoosick Falls – Eva (Kukanskis) Blinstrub, 93, died peacefully at her home on January 6, 2015, after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Walter J. Blinstrub.

Hoosick Falls – Jeanette A. Sawtell, 86, passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, VT.
Judy A. Stewart
Hoosick Falls – Judy A. Stewart, 82, passed away on Christmas Day, 2014, while attending Mass. She had resided on Wilder Avenue in Hoosick Falls, NY. Born on July 26, 1932, in Hoosick Falls, she was the daughter of the late William C. and Clara M. (Hayden) Bohmer.
Judy graduated from the Walter A. Wood High School in Hoosick Falls and Austin Beauty School. She had been a hairdresser in Hoosick Falls since the age of seventeen. Judy enjoyed the time she spent with her family and going out to dinner with several close friends. Judy was a communicant of the Sacred Heart-St. Francis Church in Bennington, VT.
Survivors include her children, Michaela Charron, Lisa Smith, Lori Stewart and William Stewart, all of Hoosick Falls, her grandchildren, Adam and Ashley Cabana, Alexis Smith, Ethan Stewart and Elizabeth Stewart-Conkling, the Bohmer family children and her nieces and nephews along with many friends. She is pre-deceased by a brother, William Bohmer, a close friend, Judy Bulson, and a sister, Barbara Wiant.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on Friday, January 2, at 11 am from the Sacred Heart-St. Francis Church on Main Street in Bennington. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either Sacred Heart-St. Francis Church or the charity of your choice through the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street, Hoosick Falls, NY, 12090.
