The thirty-first running of the Wood Memorial Road Race was held on Saturday, May 21. It was excellent running weather. A full complement of Lions Club members and Fire Department volunteers positioned throughout the course, and members of the Hoosick Falls Police Department and the Hoosick Rescue Squad were present. Steve Marcoux Will Be Grand Marshall

Hoosick Post #40 Hoosick Falls is proud to announce the Grand Marshall for the 2016 Memorial Day parade, longtime Hoosick Falls resident Steve Marcoux.

EPA Honors NYS Environmental Champions

Among Twenty-Eight Regional Recipients

On Friday, May 13, The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency honored 28 individuals and organizations and businesses from across New York State with Environmental Champion Awards for their achievements in protecting public health and the environment. EPA Regional Administrator Judith A. Enck was joined by Murray Fisher, founder of the New York Harbor School, to present the awards to this year’s recipients at a ceremony at the EPA’s offices in Manhattan.
