On Friday evening, October 30, just as it was getting dark, Wood Park filled up with princesses, angels, witches, minions, monster trucks, ninjas, cowboys, and others in creative costumes, for the start of the Halloween Parade that HAYC3 sponsors every year. There was hardly any room to move at Brown’s Brewery in Hoosick Falls on Saturday night, October 24, the place was so packed. The taproom was buzzing with excitement about the Farm to Canvas Art Lottery and the Farm to Table menu, and, as always, Brown’s excellent craft beer. Friends of the Cheney Library will be hosting the Wreath Festival at Immaculate Conception Church Fellowship Hall on November 7. Hoosick Grange had a short business meeting before the lecturer’s program.
Last week Martha Babbitt went to the New York State Grange Convention in Auburn, NY. Martha gave us a brief report of the meeting. This is usually done at a Pomona meeting, but Brunswick Grange cannot attend, so Pomona business was done at the Hoosick meeting. [Read more…] about Hoosick Grange News

On Saturday night, October 24, tragedy struck Hoosick Falls. Kyle Redden, a 22 year-old resident of Hoosick Falls and Class of 2011 HFCS graduate, was struck and killed by a drunk driver as he was walking home from a party. Redden was taken to Southwestern Vermont Medical Center by the Hoosick Falls Rescue Squad. He died at the hospital.
