Hoosick Town Board Action – Fond Farewells

The December Town of Hoosick meeting was an emotional one as it was Supervisor Marilyn Douglas, Town Councilmen Kevin O’Malley and Mark Cottrell’s last meeting. Councilman Cottrell said, “Thank you for the 10 years in office, it was fun. It was a pleasure working with everyone and good luck to the new members coming in.”

North Hoosick Fire Department Kids Christmas Dance

The North Hoosick Fire Department will hold its Annual Kids Christmas Dance on Friday, December 18, from 7 pm to 10:30 pm at the Fire House on Rt. 22. Students ages 9 to 15 and who attend area local schools are invited to attend. Parents are reminded to pick their child up on time and to sign them out after the dance.

Ask anyone and they will tell you it has been a tough year economically. From housing to retail to manufacturing, everyone is feeling the pinch. Unemployment in New York State in July was 8.7%. Fortunately, New York State is one of 17 states that has a Shared Work Program that benefits businesses and their employees.
