Bennington Battlefield  State Historic Site Celebrates  “Path Through History Weekend”

A Must-See Exhibit: “Catastrophe Hats and Other Recent Works”  by Artist Maggi Randall

Southern Vermont College (SVC) is pleased to exhibit “Catastrophe Hats and Other Recent Works” by Southern Vermont artist Maggi Randall. The exhibit is available for viewing June 4 through July 8 in Everett Mansion’s Burgdorff Gallery. The public and friends of the artist are encouraged to attend Randall’s opening reception on Saturday, June 4, from 3 to 5 pm. in the Gallery. The Gallery is open Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm and on weekends by arrangement with the Campus Safety Office. Softball Tournament A Big Success

The Town of Hoosick Baseball and Softball League fields were filled to the brim with softball players as the league hosted its biggest tournament ever over the weekend. EPA Sets New Health Standard For PFOA At 70 Parts Per Trillion

On Thursday May 19, The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency issued a revised health advisory for PFOA and PFOS, which establishes 70 parts per trillion as the standard. Water with a greater concentration than 70 parts per trillion should not be used on a long-term basis as drinking water. The new Castle Playground came into being in just three days. That is, it was assembled by community volunteers on May 19, 20 and 21, but it’s been more than a year in the making. The old Castle Playground was a Town landmark ever since it was first built, but in recent years it had become a bit shabby looking, and less safe than it should be. The Thirty-First Running Of The Wood Memorial

The thirty-first running of the Wood Memorial Road Race was held on Saturday, May 21. It was excellent running weather. A full complement of Lions Club members and Fire Department volunteers positioned throughout the course, and members of the Hoosick Falls Police Department and the Hoosick Rescue Squad were present.
