Beware Of An IRS Scam

November 28, 2014 By eastwickpress

by Colleen Teal, New Lebanon Clerk

It has come to my attention that there is an aggressive phone scam going on involving people posing as IRS tax collection representatives.

The IRS and NYS tax departments will always contact you by mail. Please never respond to phone calls or emails that claim to be from either of those departments. Do not give personal information over the phone and be careful with these threatening phone calls.

Please share this information with family and friends.
