Rev Tor Performs At New Lebanon Library

Berkshire musician Tor Krautter will perform at the New Lebanon Library on Thursday, December 13, at 7 pm. With the use of a looping unit, Rev Tor creates tasty yet infectious grooves and performs a large repertoire of well crafted original tunes and classic rock/folk covers.

Darrow School To Host Free Revels Performances

Are you ready for some revelry? Darrow School invites the community to its the annual solstice celebration, Winter Revels, on Friday, December 7, at 4:30 pm and Saturday, December 8, at 4:30 pm. Both performances are free and open to the public.
Darrow’s Winter Revels is a lively seasonal celebration, a favorite Darrow tradition, featuring spectacular Renaissance costumes and traditional madrigals and folk tunes. The performances also include other music, drama and comedy, as selected by the current students and faculty.

New Lebanon Book Group To Discuss Eowyn Ivey’s The Snow Child

The New Lebanon Book Group will discuss the novel The Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey on Sunday, December 2, at 11 am at the New Lebanon Library. Newcomers are welcome.
For further information on this free event, please call the Library at 518-794-8844. The Library is located at 550 State Route 20, ¼ mile north of the yellow blinking light at the intersection of Routes 20/22.

New Lebanon Decreases Tax Levy!

At its monthly meeting Tuesday the Town Board of New Lebanon adopted a 2013 budget of $2,053,600 which is a .36% reduction from the 2012 budget. The budget passed with all in favor. Councilman Bruce Baldwin was absent.

Food For Fines At The New Lebanon Library

Put your library fines to work for the community. During the week of November 12 through November 17, the New Lebanon Library will exchange food for fines. Fines for overdue materials (regardless of amount) will be cleared from your record at a rate of one fine for one food item donated. Only overdue items – not lost or damaged items – are eligible.

Darrow School Fall Play: A New Take On A Classic

Follow the Yellow Brick Road to Darrow School on Friday, November 9, at 7:30 pm and Saturday, November 10, at 3:30 pm as the Darrow Theater Workshop presents its fall musical, There’s No Place Like Home, an original production based on L. Doug Schmolze To Perform At New Lebanon Library

Berkshire musician Doug Schmolze will be performing at the New Lebanon Library on Friday, November 16, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. This event is free and open to the public, although donations for the performer are appreciated.
Schmolze’s program will include traditional folk songs and sing-along favorites as well as songs from the American songbook from the 30s, 40s and 50s from composers such as Harold Arlen, Cole Porter and Rodgers and Hammerstein. He will also perform solo guitar pieces from Latin American and Spanish composers including Flamenco.
