Grafton Benefit Breakfast

The Grafton Volunteer Fire Department, along with the Grafton Ladies Auxiliary, will be holding an All You Can Eat Buffet Breakfast on Saturday, October 23 (a week earlier than usual) from 8 to 11 am at the Grafton VFW – Fire Hall on South Road (County Route 85).
This will be a benefit breakfast for the Wagar family, who lost a lot in a house fire on Thursday, September 30.
Belgian waffles, pancakes, French toast, eggs (made to order), bacon, sausage, home fries, toast, orange juice, coffee and milk are on the menu. The cost is $8 per adult, $4 for kids 12 and under and free for kids 5 and under. We look forward to serving you!

HFCS PTA Fall Festival 2010 Is Just Around The Corner!

It’s that time of year when the HFCS PTA gears up for their annual Fall Festival, now in its tenth year. The hustle-bustle is underway and the excitement mounting for the young and young-at-heart as Fall Festival 2010 is just around the corner. Texas Hold’em

The Veterans of Stephentown will hold a Texas Hold’em Tournament on Saturday, October 16, in the Stephentown Fire Hall, located on Grange Hall Road in Stephentown. The doors will open at 5 pm and close at 6 pm. Play begins at 6:15 sharp.
A free buffet will be served at the first break, and refreshments will be available.

Kids Dance Night

The North Hoosick Fire Department will hold a Kids Dance on Friday, October 8, from 7 to 9:45  pm at the firehouse on Rt. 22. Students who are 9 to 14 years of age and attend Hoosick Falls Central, St Mary’s Academy or Cambridge Central School are invited to attend this event.

Tsatsawassa Fire Company Breakfast

The Tsatsawassa Protective Fire Company will resume its monthly breakfast on Sunday, October 17, from 8 am to noon at the firehouse located on Firehouse Lane behind the post office near the intersection of Routes 20 and 66N in Brainard. Breakfast is scheduled to be served the third Sunday of each month through May and will consist of patron’s choice of pancakes or French toast,  bacon or sausage, eggs prepared to order,  toast, applesauce, orange juice and beverage. Join your neighbors and friends and support your local fire department.

Pittstown Volunteer Fire Department Chicken Barbecue

The Pittstown Volunteer Fire Department will be holding a Chicken Barbecue Dinner on Saturday, October 9  at the Pittstown Fire House, 134 Parker School Road. The price is $10  per dinner. Serving take-outs from 3 to 6 pm.
At the same time a Fire Prevention Open House with hands on fire extinguisher demonstrations and fire safety information.

Beautiful Day For A Cow Plop

Sunday was a perfect autumn day. The weather was absolutely beautiful for the St. Mary’s Academy Cow Plop and Car Show. There were plenty of activities for the kids and lots of great food. Ben Patten supplied plenty of patter and music to match the era of the 113 collector cars, trucks and motorcycle that made up this year’s show. Those vehicles just gleamed in the sun!
