7th Annual Memorial Motorcycle Run For Ryan Gardner And Courtney Carelli

On Saturday, August 7, Stephentown is expected to be filled with over 400 motorcycles for the 7th Annual Memorial Motorcycle Run for Ryan Gardner and Courtney Carelli. This annual event is held to raise money to fund College Scholarships for Berlin High School students to take Hudson Valley Community College courses while attending high school. In the past years, numerous scholarships in Ryan and Courtney’s memory have been awarded, thanks to the generous donations of area businesses.

A Pleasant Summer Evening In The Park

Illustrated Talk On The Seals Of New York State

Author Marvin Bubie will present an illustrated talk, “On the Trail of Henry Hudson and Our Heritage through the Municipal Seals of New York State,” on Monday, August 2, to the Stephentown Historical Society. Because of a current renovation project at the Heritage Center, the meeting will be held at the Stephentown Fire Hall, 35 Grange Hall Road, Stephentown. It begins at 7:30 pm and is free and open to the public. The building is air-conditioned and handicapped accessible. For directions, telephone 518-733-5675.

Hoosick Falls Country Club To Hold Free Youth Golf Clinic

Letter To The Editor – Watch Out!

To the Editor:
This is a warning to everyone who has a phone with Fairpoint – check your long distance calls carefully. I had six calls on my recent bill that were to disconnected phones in Florida, Massachusetts, North Carolina and New York. When I called the phone company they said they are having trouble in my area, which leads me to believe that I am NOT the only person overcharged and that I would not be refunded unless I called.

When is someone in this state going to use some common sense? Lawmakers want to enact a law requiring teenagers to blow into a device to start their cars and then continue to blow into it every 30 minutes to keep their car running – all to prove they have not been drinking.

16th Annual Poestenkill Fire Company Car Show

The 16th Annual Poestenkill Fire Company Car Show will be held on Sunday, August 8, at the Poestenkill Firehouse. There will be food, refreshments, vendors and door prizes. Music will be provided by the K-Man, rain or shine. Free parking is available, and the show is free to spectators.
