North Hoosick Fire Department To hold 250th Kids Dance
The North Hoosick Fire Department is celebrating its 250th kids dance on Friday, April 23, from 7 to 9:45 pm at the firehouse on Rt. 22. Students ages 9 to 15 who attend Cambridge Central, Hoosick Falls Central, St. Mary’s Academy or Mount Anthony Middle School are invited to attend this special event.

Bob Dwyer To Present Updated Funeral Information
On Friday, April 23, the Seniors’ Ministry of Immaculate Conception/St. Joseph Parish, New Lebanon, will host its regular monthly get-together at 11:30 am. This month, funeral director and parishioner, Bob Dwyer, will explain some of the more recent changes in the Catholic funeral Mass and burial service, including cremation rites. He will also discuss regulatory issues, such as embalming, transporting the deceased person across state lines and local requirements for burial vaults. ADAPT Coffee House Concert
The Hoosick Falls Central School A.D.A.P.T committee will host a Coffee House Concert on Saturday, May 1, at 7 pm at the Immaculate Conception Church Hall, 67 Main Street in Hoosick Falls. The Coffee House Concert will feature musical entertainment by The Brewster’s, Krissy Fauler, Wayne Willson and Shari Hand as well as by Anne Smith, a professional vocalist from NYC.

Taconic Valley Soccer Club Opening Day
The Taconic Valley Soccer Club will begin opening day for the spring season on Saturday, May 1, on the front steps of the Berlin Elementary School at 9 am.
If you registered in the fall or are newly registered for the spring, this is the first day of practice. Newly registered players will get their uniforms at this time. Shin guards will be on sale for $5, and there will also be a cleat exchange.
Stephentown Extra Helpings
The May ordering date for the Extra Helpings Community Food Buying Club in Stephentown is Thursday, April 29, from 3:30 to 6 pm at the Stephentown Federated Church on Garfield Road. The Extra Helpings program is part of the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York. It allows anyone to buy nutritious food at lower than retail prices. There are no limits on age, income, number of bundles or geography, so all smart shoppers are welcome and encouraged to participate.

Jason Sykes Rocks Pins For Perfect Game
Jason Sykes recorded his first career perfect game on Friday, April 9, while bowling in the Friday National League at the Barbecue Recreation in Hoosick Falls. The 300 game came in the last game of the contest and followed games of 239 and 216 for a total three game series of 755. Jason bowled for the team sponsored by Falls Auto Service.
Johnsonville Rescue Squad Breakfast
The Johnsonville Rescue Squad located at 4 River Rd., Johnsonville, will be having its monthly breakfast on Sunday, May 2, from 7:30 to 11:30 am. The menu consists of pancakes, French toast, eggs, hash browns, omelets, sausage, toast, fruit, juice and coffee. The cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children 5-12.
