The Polish Hall held its 8th Annual Poker Run on June 4th, that benefits the McGovern Cancer Fund, and was again a success! A beautiful day was had by all, with 70 registered participants. $1409 was collected by participants and donations, and was presented to Pat Hayes, chairperson of the McGovern Fund. Voice of a Vet is excited to launch its new “Adopt a Serviceman” program. This unique program gives individuals, family and community members, organizations, clubs, churches and other groups an opportunity to purchase a beautifully detailed cross memorial that will bear the name of a fallen Town of Hoosick serviceman, when and where he died, and the war in which he served. More than 1,1000 students were recently named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2016 term at Hudson Valley Community College. Each fall and spring term, the college’s Deans’ List honors those students who have a term grade point average between 3.0 and 3.5.
