DEC And DOH Announce Commitment By Taconic To Install Filtration System On Petersburgh Water District

At the direction of Governor Cuomo, the Department of Environmental Conservation and Department of Health reached an agreement with Taconic Plastics, Inc. to install a carbon water filtration system for the Town of Petersburgh water supply to address perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) contamination, the agencies announced today. Governor Cuomo’s office has decided that the agreement between the Village, Saint-Gobain, and Honeywell, will be achieved via a consent order from the State, Mayor David Borge announced at the Tuesday, March 8 Village Board Meeting. Rensselaer County To Undertake Collaborative Solar Initiative

Hoosick Falls 3rd And 4th Graders Win Basketball Tournament

Rensselaer County Is Granted Intervenor Status In Permitting Of Kinder Morgan Pipeline

A motion requesting “intervenor” status in the FERC review of the Kinder Morgan pipeline, filed by Rensselaer County in late January, has been granted. This makes the County a recognized part of the review process that will lead to a decision to permit construction of the pipeline or not, or to permit it with restrictions or conditions.
