This Time The Town Is Not On The Hook For Their Care

State Police say a neighbor on Jay Hakes Road alerted them to a large number of dogs chained to buildings and trucks at an abandoned trailer home, the animals left without shelter from the extreme cold.  Troopers identified the owner as 83 year old Ed Maxfield.  They say his son had been feeding the dogs twice a day, but they were without water, as their dishes had long since frozen over.  [Read more…] about Another Case Of Animal Neglect In Grafton

Two More Speeding Mishaps On Bly Hollow Road

Last November the Berlin Town Board petitioned the NYS Department of Transportation for a speed reduction on Bly Hollow Road. At the time the Town cited many drivers traveling at excessive speeds, resulting in numerous accidents over the past few years, two of which were fatal.  At the February 11 meeting, resident Doug Goodermote reported there were at least two more incidents of vehicles leaving the road as the result of high rates of speed.  No injuries were reported.  [Read more…] about Berlin Town Board Action

Petersburgh Court Room Is Dedicated To Neil Manchester

A gathering was held at the Petersburgh Town Hall on Sunday February 14 to show off the newly-renovated Town Courtroom and to dedicate it to Neil Manchester. The Courtroom was renovated with a $25,000 grant from the State’s Justice Court Assistance Fund.
