The Shaker Museum Mount Lebanon is hosting guided walking tours inside the massive remains of the North Family Shakers’ Great Stone Barn on Friday, July 31 and Friday, August 7 at 2 pm each day. The tours, which detail the history and current state of the Barn, will leave from the Wash House Visitor Center and Museum Store. This is the first opportunity for the general public to enter inside the structure since a fire destroyed the roof and much of the timber frame 43 years ago. Troop 222 Goes To Summer Camp

The Boys of Troop 222 out of Petersburgh ventured over the mountain to Rotary Scout Reservation in Poestenkill. The troop sent fourteen scouts and three leaders to camp on July 19 for a week of outdoor scouting. The boys stayed in the Onondaga campsite and picked up three additional scouts called Provos. Cantering Cowpokes 4-H Club won 1st place for the Prettiest Float in the 4th of July parade with our “Something’s Fishy” float and accompanying fish, mermaids, turtle, and sea horses. Along with our cash prize, we also won a red, white, and blue ribbon to add to our scrapbook. Even though we were very wet, we still had a good time!
