Hoffman Sentenced

Brendan Hoffman, the 22 year old Stephentown man found guilty of vehicular manslaughter and leaving the scene of a 2012 accident, received a sentence of 5 to 15 years at his sentencing hearing on April 25.

Bottle Bombs Set Off On River Street

Hoosick Falls Police Chief Robert Ashe said that on Saturday, April 26, Officers from the Department responded to a report of shots fired in the area of River Street. When they arrived they noticed “unknown subjects” fleeing from the area. The Officers located bottles on the ground that appeared to have exploded. Officers located two juvenile males who admitted they had been setting off “Bottle Bombs.”

Roadwork Planned For Route 2 In Petersburgh

Grafton Will Not Share Transfer Station With Petersburgh

The Grafton Town Board held a workshop on Saturday, April 26, to consider sharing the Town transfer station with Petersburgh. Grafton Town Supervisor Frank Higgins began the meeting by saying the question before the Board was whether the Town of Grafton would like to make a proposal to the Town of Petersburgh which would allow Petersburgh to use the Grafton transfer station for a fee. The merits of this question were never really discussed at this meeting, which consisted mostly of bickering on ancillary topics.
