The County Legislature Adjourns Its Meeting In Memory Of Thomas G. Restino

The Rensselaer County Legislature adjourned its year end special meeting on December 17 in memory of the Honorable Thomas G. Restino. Restino was a Trustee for the Village of Hoosick Falls, Justice of the Peace for the Town of Hoosick and then served four terms as a Rensselaer County Legislator for District 5 from 1974 to 1989. After that he served  as Town of Hoosick Supervisor.

Berlin Town Board – Naughty Or Nice?

Petersburgh Town Board Action – Money’s Tight

Petersburgh Supervisor Siegfried Krahforst said there is $36,152 left in the Town accounts. He said money is due to come in from Federal Highway funds to reimburse the Town for money it has laid out on the Broken Wheel Bridge project. He is hoping that that money, and maybe also this year’s CHIPS money, will come in before the end of the year.

Stephentown Town Board Action – December 2013

More CHIPS Money Than Expected

Stephentown Town Supervisor Larry Eckhardt started off the Town Board meeting on Monday with some good news. The CHIPS money has arrived. The State aid revenue from the Consolidated Local Street & Highway Improvement Program came in at $128,197, about $33,000 more than was estimated in the 2013 budget.

Grafton Planning Board Action? – The Perfect Egg

Like the amount of time it takes for the perfect soft boiled egg, the Grafton Planning Board meeting on Monday, December 16, lasted three minutes. All the Board members braved a bitterly cold night to attend the meeting in which their only act was to approve the minutes of the previous month’s meeting and pubic hearing. There was no old business, no new business and no informal discussion. Only this reporter and Planning Board Secretary Jessica Crandall’s personal assistant were in attendance.

Kathy Ann Numbers Graduates From Basic Training

Kathy Ann Numbers graduated in 2012 from Hoosick Falls Central School and joined the Army National Guard in September 2013. She  graduated from Basic Training at Fort Sill, OK, on November 15, 2013, and is now stationed at Good Fellows Air Force Base in San Angelo, TX, due to graduate from Advanced Individual Training (AIT) in June of next year.
