Bus Seats Still Available For Carnegie Hall Trip

On November 16 the  Hoosick Falls Jr./Sr. High School Choir will be singing at Carnegie Hall. The concert, hosted by Tim Janis, is a fundraiser for the Kate Winslet Golden Hat Foundation, which raises funds for Autism research.
Bus seats cost $28 for a coach trip to NYC. Spend the day shopping and enjoying the sites of the city then catch the concert at 8 pm. Tickets for the concert can be purchased at www.carnegiehall.org or by calling 212-247-7800. Bus seats can be reserved through Ambigay Yudkoff at HFCS or through Joyce Brewer at 518-258-5772. The bus will leave Hoosick Falls at 8 am and return directly after the concert, approximately 9:45 pm

Lebanon Valley Farmers Market Annual Holiday Farmers Markets

The Lebanon Valley Farmers Market will hold its annual holiday markets on Sunday, November 17, from 10 am to 2 pm and December 8 from 10 am to 2 pm at the Midtown Mall, Routes 20 and 22 in the center of New Lebanon.
Sample and take home a fine selection of local vegetables, meats, baked goods, flowers, handcrafted furniture and gifts and more – made and grown locally.
There will be family entertainment with an assortment of local musicians – The Mountain Road Singers and, on December 8, a surprise visit from both Santa and New Lebanon’s biggest celebrity – Kobe the Alligator!

Petersburgh Veteran’s Day Covered Dish Supper

All are invited to this annual supper at the Petersburgh Veterans Memorial Community Center at 71 Main Street, on Monday, November 11, at 6 pm. Please bring a covered dish to share and a dollar or two for the 50/50 raffle to support the Hall. Doors open at 5:30, and beverages will be provided.

SML Offers Grant Seeking Workshops

The Stephentown Memorial Library will offer “How to Write a Grant” workshop on Monday, November 18, at 6:30 pm and a “How to Create  a Budget’ workshop on Thursday, December 5, at 6:30 pm.
The Grant Writing workshop will provide guidance on development of a statement of need, addressing the funder’s priorities, creating program descriptions, budgets and evaluation plans.
The “How to Create a Budget” workshop will teach participants the basics of budget development for grants, programs and business plans.  Attendees will learn how to plan for and financially represent  revenue sources, staffing, operations and capital expenses. This workshop is an excellent introduction for anyone who needs to build a budget for a new business venture, a new or ongoing program or a grant application.
The workshops are ideal for people who want to find and apply for grants, people who are interested in writing a business plan and those who want to enhance their resumé by adding these valuable skills.

Rensselaer County Hosts Annual Veterans Breakfast And Medal Presentation Ceremony

Rensselaer County Executive Kathleen M. Jimino has announced that this year’s Veterans Appreciation Breakfast and Medals Ceremony will be held on Sunday, November 10, at the Brunswick Elks located at 665 Brunswick Road in Eagle Mills. The breakfast, which is free for veterans and their immediate families, will run from 8:30 to 11:30 am and will be immediately followed by a Medals Presentation Ceremony where 9 veterans, or their families, will be presented military honors earned by the veteran.
“The event is an excellent opportunity to thank our veterans for their service to our nation as well as honor those who have not yet received the medals and accommodations they have earned through their service,” stated Jimino.
Veterans, members of our armed forces and the general public are encouraged to attend the breakfast and join in the ceremony. Two Purple Hearts are among the medals that will be presented. For more information about the Veterans Breakfast and Medals Ceremony please call 518-270-2760

Tsatsawassa Protective Fire Company Breakfast

The Tsatsawassa Protective Fire Company will serve its monthly breakfast at the firehouse on Sunday, November 17, from 8 to 11:30 am. Breakfast consists of your choice of French toast or pancakes together with bacon or sausage, toast, orange juice, beverages and eggs prepared to your order for a cost of $6 with children under five served free.
