HAYC3 is offering a babysitting course for anyone 12 and older. The class will be held on Saturday, October 13, from 10 am to 12 pm at the Youth Center, 115 Church Street, Hoosick Falls.
Participants will discuss basic safety, ideas for fun activities to keep children occupied, what to do in an emergency and other useful tips to make their experience as a babysitter successful and enjoyable.
There is a fee which includes training materials. It is $15 for HAYC3 members and $25 for non-members. Please register in advance by calling HAYC3 at 518-686-9050.

Berkshire band The Limb Shakers will be performing at the New Lebanon Library on Friday, September 21, at 6:30 pm. They will perform a program of old time jazz and swing music at this event, which is free and open to the public although donations for the performers are appreciated.

Stanley Brostoski Paintings On Exhibit At Southern Vermont College
Paintings by Stanley Brostoski, a long time Shaftsbury resident who passed away in June 2012, will be on exhibit at Southern Vermont College’s Burgdorff Gallery in the Everett Mansion in Bennington now through September 25. Fifteen works on both canvas and paper show the artist’s interest in the natural scene as painted landscape and in the human figure as well. Brostoski last exhibited his photography at Southern Vermont College in 2005.

New Learn-to-Geocache Workshops Scheduled At State Parks
Three new learn-to-geocache workshops have been scheduled at Saratoga Spa State Park, Saratoga Springs, on September 27 at 5 pm and at Grafton Lakes State Park on September 29 at 1 pm.
