Sand Lake Historical Society And Bicentennial Planning Meeting

There will be a  combined meeting of the Sand Lake Historical Society  and the Bicentennial Planning Committee on Tuesday, September 11, at 6 pm at the Sand Lake Baptist Church, 2960 NY 43 in Averill Park. It will be a  covered dish dinner. Please bring an entrée or salad. Dessert, beverages and table settings will be provided. The program will be the Bicentennial in Review. Your pictures and remembrances will be welcomed as well as items of historical significance to be considered for the time capsule. Musical selections will be provided by Betsy & Steve Fry and Friends

HAYC3 Asks For Nominations For Outstanding Young People

HAYC3 is seeking nominations for its annual Youth Recognition Ceremony. Outstanding young people in the Hoosick community are recognized by HAYC3 each year for their volunteer service, community spirit and positive leadership abilities. The recognition ceremony will take place during the 4th Annual Pumpkinpalooza. Recipients will be presented with an award certificate at the gazebo in Wood Park on Saturday, September 29, at 11:30 am. The public is welcome to attend to help honor these outstanding young people.

Robin O’Herin To Perform At The New Lebanon Library

Berkshire musician Robin O’Herin will be performing at the New Lebanon Library on Friday, September 14, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. This event is free and open to the public, although donations for the performer are appreciated.
O’Herin specializes in historically rich, interactive concerts that include original and traditional American music. Hoosick Republican Giffy’s Bar-B-Q

The Town of Hoosick Republican Committee will host a Giffy’s Bar-B-Q on Thursday, September 20, at the Grand Union Parking Lot on Route 22 in Hoosick. Meals will include a ½ chicken, baked potato, coleslaw, roll, dessert and beverage. Pick up will be from 4 to 6 pm.
Tickets cost $10 each and can be purchased from any Committee member or by calling 518-322-8685 or 518-686-5992. A limited number of tickets will be available on the day of the Bar-B-Q.   Get that one last Giffy’s Bar-B-Q Chicken dinner in for this season before the leaves turn and the snow begins to fall.

LEGOs At The Library

Come to the Grafton Community Library on Friday, September 21, at 4 pm to build with LEGOs and Duplos. All ages are welcome. This program is free and occurs every third Friday of the month.

Sullivan-Jones VFW Post 7466 Buffet Breakfast

The Sullivan Jones VFW Post 7466 located on Veterans Street in Poestenkill, will be having its monthly buffet breakfast on September 9 from 8 to 11 am. The cost is $7 for adults, $3 for children 5 to 12 and free for children under 5. The buffet includes eggs, sausage, home fries, pancakes, French toast sticks, fruit, toast, juice, coffee and tea.

UAlbany Holds 168th Commencement; Local Students Graduate

Johnsonville Rescue Squad Annual Ham Dinner

The Johnsonville Rescue Squad, located at 4 River Road, is holding its annual ham dinner on Sunday, September 23, from 3 to 6 pm. The cost for adults is $10, $5 for children 5-12. The menu consists of ham, potatoes, coleslaw, rolls, homemade pies, pickles and applesauce. Reservations can be made by calling 753-7518. Take out is available, or you can eat in.
