Two things the Stephentown Town Board is focusing on lately are reviewing and updating the land use regulations and getting started on doing something to encourage business development in the town.
Upgrading The Land Use Regulations

Petersburgh Town Board Action – Planning Board Front And Center

At its March meeting, the Petersburgh Town Board agreed to a request from Planning Board Chairman Dave Miller to add a Planning Board page on to the Town web site. Miller said Planning Board Member Frank Sheldon had sent some material to Town Clerk Callie Crisp to be used to start the Planning Board page.

Hoosick Planning Board Action – March 2011

There was a full complement of members at the Monday, March 21, meeting of the Hoosick Planning Board. At the February meeting there had been a quorum of four members, but the December minutes could not be approved because new Board Member Kevin Allard abstained from the vote since he had not attended that meeting. The March meeting started with a discussion between Planning Board Attorney Stanton King and Allard about quorums, the recording of votes and general Planning Board procedures. Canoe Rental Business Proceeds

At the Grafton Planning Board meeting on Monday, March 21, the Board voted to accept David Buckley’s application to establish a canoe and kayak rental business on the Ray Darling property on Route 2, the site of the Old Partners Inn. The business will be called Graftonondack Outfitters & Boat Livery.

LHWA Annual Meeting
The annual meeting of the Little Hoosic Watershed Association will be held on Tuesday, March 29, at 7 pm at the Berlin Seventh Day Baptist Church. The public is welcome. Agenda items include a review of work completed in 2010, an update on projects planned for 2011, a discussion of recent storm damage and elections for the Board of Directors. The Association is currently seeking nominations for new Directors. Current Board members are Tim Allen, Derek Burhans, Len Clapp, Stanton Goodermote, Carl Greene and Claudia Kavenagh.
