Petersburgh Rod And Gun Club Turkey Shoot
Win a turkey! The Petersburgh Rod and Gun Club will be holding its annual event on September 28 and October 5 – both times at 12 noon at the Clubhouse on Scriven Road.
Families are encouraged to attend. There will be raffles and the summer long 50/50 raffle will be drawn on September 28. Food will include hot dogs, hamburgers, sausage & peppers and desserts such as brownies and homemade pies.
Bring your favorite shotgun and/or rifle (no 10 gauge shotguns). Hope to see you all there! Questions? Call 283-4890.
Berlin/Petersburgh Historical Trivia Night
The Taconic Valley Historical Society will present Historical Trivia Night at its September meeting. The meeting will be led by Sharon Klein, Berlin Town Historian, and Carol Alderman, President of the Historical Society. Klein and Alderman, being lifelong residents, have an in depth knowledge of the Berlin/Petersburgh area and families. If you have an interest in local history or are new to the area and wish to learn more about the history of our communities, please attend.
The meeting is Monday, September 15, at 7:30 pm at the Methodist Church on South Main Street in Berlin and is open to the public free of charge. Refreshments will be served.

Petersburgh Library News
The fall programs at the Petersburgh Public Library will begin on Tuesday, September 9, with pre-school story hour at 11 am. Pre-schoolers and their caregivers are invited to join us for stories, activities, crafts and snacks. In September will be having stories about transportation. Trains will be featured on the 9th and boats on the 16th. If Tuesday morning is not a good time for you, please contact the library and let us know what time would be good for you. There is a survey being conducted to find out what would be good times for story hour and other programs at the Library.
The book discussion group resumes on Wednesday, September 10, at 7 pm when Bring Up the Bodies by Hillary Mantel will be discussed. Copies of the book are available at the Library. New members are welcome to join the group or if you have read the book and would like to join the discussion for the evening you are invited to join us.
Local Students On Dean’s List At The College Of Saint Rose
The College of Saint Rose in Albany announced that 779 students have been named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2014 semester.
Full time students who complete a minimum of 12 credit hours and achieve a semester grade point average of at least 3.5 with no grades of D, F, Incomplete or Pass/Fail are eligible for the Dean’s List.

Isaac Share Admitted to SUNY Oneonta
Isaac Share of Petersburgh has been admitted to SUNY Oneonta as a transfer student. Approximately 1,100 new freshmen and 560 transfer students began their studies at SUNY Oneonta on Monday, August 25. The SUNY Oneonta fall 2014 transfer class has an average cumulative grade-point average of 3.2.
Share, a graduate of Berlin Jr./Sr. High School, will major in Gerontology Studies at Oneonta.
