Arlo Michael Church, cherished son of Michael and Sadie Church of Troy, NY, passed away at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia shortly following his birth, December 26, 2012.
In addition to his parents he leaves behind a sister, Rebekah Skye Church, grandparents, Pat and Jim Holmes of Troy, Tom and Wendy McLaughlin of Castleton, NY, Peter Church of Hoosick, NY, and Irene Fyfe MacCollar of Belfast, ME, loving great-grandparents and a great number of extended family.
Graveside services were held on Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at Meadowlawn Cemetery in Petersburgh, NY.
Donations in Arlo’s memory to benefit the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia should be forwarded to the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street, Hoosick Falls, NY, 12090, checks to be made out to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Supervisor Siegfried Krahforst reported that he, Councilman Duane Goodermote and County Engineer Wayne Bonesteel had a meeting to evaluate proposals from engineers interested in doing the engineering work on the Broken Wheel Bridge. The existing bridge has a span of about 25 feet. The proposals being considered re-design the roadway and proposed spans range from 35 feet to 50 feet.

Post Office Hours In Berlin, Grafton and Cherry Plain To Be Cut Back – But Not Right Away

As reported in this paper last week, the Petersburgh Post Office, as part of a cost-cutting review of local post offices will have its window hours cut by 15 minutes. This is not a very big change for Petersburgh customers, but what about other post offices in the area?

On Saturday, December 8, the Scouts again sold out of Christmas wreaths during the PVMCC’s annual Craft Fair. Community Helps Votra Family Recover From Fire

On the first weekend after the fire which burned his house to the ground, Jim Votra, with friends, family and helpers, was able to clear up the mess where his burned house was and fill in the cellar hole. There were many pickup trucks parked on the site last weekend belonging to the people who had come to help out. Jay Burdick ran an excavator donated by Rifenburg Construction, and by Monday the site was smooth and neat.
