Jeremy Pelletier Awarded Degree From Binghamton University

Jeremy Charles Pelletier from Petersburgh was recently awarded a Master of Public Administration degree in Public Administration from the College of Community and Public Affairs at Binghamton University.
Binghamton University is one of the four university centers of the State University of New York. Known for the excellence of its students, faculty, staff and programs, Binghamton enrolls close to 15,000 students in programs leading to bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees.

Petersburgh Town Board Action – 2015 Revaluation Planned

Petersburgh Sole Assessor Craig Surprise urged the Board to get started on a revaluation of real property in the Town. He said the real estate market has settled down and prices are stabilizing, so he believes it’s a good time to do it. Surprise feels it has been too long since the Town last did a revaluation. He said it takes two years to do it, so the Town needs to plan now to get a 2015 reval done. The work would be done in 2013 and 2014, and the new valuations would be in place in 2015. The Board agreed to go forward with it.

Old Fashioned Travellers Pass Through Petersburgh

With cars and trucks whizzing by on Route 22 in Petersburgh, Ernie and Chris Bessette were in no hurry. The just plodded along in their two horsepower vehicle at their normal speed of 20 miles per day. That speed might be diminished depending on how often they stopped to chat with curious bypassers.

Berlin-Based Farmers Market Moves To Town Garage Parking Lot

Following approval by the Berlin Town Board in July and subsequent approval by the Town’s insurance carrier, Our Valley Community Farmers’ Market (OVCFM) now sets up in the parking lot of the Town’s Highway Garage on Route 22 in Berlin from 11 am until 2 pm on Sundays.

Petersburgh Public Library Changes Hours

The Petersburgh Public Library Board of Trustees is pleased to announce a change in the Petersburgh Public Library hours. Starting September 1 the Library will be open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 2 until 6 pm. The Library will be open on Wednesday from 2 until 7 pm.

The Petersburgh Sunshine Seniors, with a couple grandchildren in tow, went on their mystery trip on Monday. They started with a lunch at the Old Country Buffet in Pittsfield, followed by attending an abridged rendition of Rodgers’ and Hammerstein’s Me and Juliet at the Colonial Theater. Geraldine Goodermote

Petersburgh – Geraldine Louise Smith Goodermote passed away peacefully August 8, 2012, at the Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation at Hoosick Falls at the age of 88. She had lived in Petersburgh, NY, her entire life until moving to the Health Center in 2009. Geraldine was the daughter of the late William Smith and Miranda Sweet Smith of Petersburgh.
