Petersburgh Town Board Action – Broken Wheel Bridge Is Red Tagged

At the July 16 meeting of the Petersburgh Town Board, Town Highway Superintendent Ray Harrison said the bridge over the Little Hoosic River at Broken Wheel Road was red tagged by State inspectors. This was the result of routine annual inspections that are done on an annual basis of all the bridges in Town.

Petersburgh Library Summer Reading

The Summer Reading Program “Dream Big – Read” continues at the Petersburgh Public Library for children, teens and adults. Everyone who signed up for the Summer Reading Program is encouraged to keep reading and recording the titles and authors of the books read. Also, all youth who signed up are reminded to stop into the Library each week to pick up his or her prize. There are a few more programs coming up during the summer.

BCS Traveling Art Show

The Berlin High School Art Department is proud to present its First Annual Traveling Library Summer Art Show! The show features student art work from Studio in Art,  a Foundational Art Course at the High School.
The exhibit will be in the Petersburgh Public Library from July 16 to 27 and in the Grafton Community Library from July 30 to August 10. It was on display in the Berlin Free Town Library from June 18 to 29 and in the Stephentown Library  from July 2 to 13.

The Petersburgh Public Library Summer Reading Program has begun. Everyone is invited to come on Monday, July 2, at 10:30 am for “Let’s Drum” presented by Jonathan Duda.  Participants from all levels of musical ability can come and make noise using bells, shakers and a variety of drums.

Petersburgh Town Board Action – Town To Enforce Building Codes

Petersburgh Town Supervisor Siegfried Krahforst said the Town needs to take some action to enforce the building codes in Town. He said it’s been three years since the first letter went out to all property owners in town warning them that building permits are required, but he said the Town is aware of buildings being put up without permits. He said the Town will begin to prosecute any unpermitted building construction begun after the first letter was sent out, which was about three years ago, in 2009.
