A benefit turkey dinner is being planned to help Lisa Minkler Hendricks (BCS 2000) and her family on April 14 at the Petersburgh Memorial Hall. Lisa is currently undergoing cancer treatments at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in NYC.

The Petersburgh Fire Department was given overwhelming approval by the voters to buy a new fire truck at the vote held on Tuesday evening March 27. Twenty-eight ballots were cast – 26 in favor and 1 against. One was void because the voter was not enrolled.

Petersburgh Fire Truck Vote Is Tuesday

The Petersburgh Fire Department is holding a vote this Tuesday, March 27, at the fire house from 6 to 9 pm for approval of the purchase of a new fire truck. The truck they are replacing is a 1956 pumper which they call “the Maxin” after the company which made it. That truck cost $17,000 in 1956, and it was refurbished in 1976 at a cost of $17,000. Petersburgh Town Board Action – Town Hall Fixes Proposed

Supervisor Siegfried Krahforst arrived at this month’s Petersburgh Town Board meeting with estimates in hand for work on the Town Hall amounting to almost $10,000. He said a drainage pipe had already been laid to carry the water away from the building, and he proposed to put up gutters to catch the water off the roof and feed it into the new drainage pipes. He said water getting into the basement is making the basement area of the building completely unusable; he feels the problem should be dealt with right away. Rensselaer County Legislature – Prominent Grafton And Babcock Lake Resident Honored

The family of Charles Hamill of Grafton entered the well of the Rensselaer County Legislature on Tuesday night to receive copies of the resolution passed last month that memorialized him. Charles J. “Charlie” Hamill died on January 23, 2012.
