Election Day Charlie Dogs And A Dinner At Petersburgh Veterans Memorial Community Center
Mini Hot Dogs with Charlie Sauce will be on sale at the PVMCC on November 8, Election Day, from 10 am to 4:30 pm. Take out is available.
A spaghetti supper will be served from 4:30 to 7 pm at the PVMCC. Adults will be charged $8, children 6-12, $5; children under age 5 eat for free. For more information call 658-3788 or 283-5397.
Election day food is sponsored by the Petersburgh Methodist Church.
Petersburgh Veterans Memorial Community Center Events
Veterans Dinner
On November 11 the Petersburgh Veterans Memorial Community Center is hosting a potluck dinner in recognition of our veterans. Please bring your favorite potluck dish and join us for dinner and music from 5:30 to 8 pm.
Contra Dance
There will be a contra dance at the PVMCC on November 12 from 7 to 9:30 pm. Don’t worry if you haven’t done it before; they teach you at a nice pace, and it is lots of fun. The cost is $8 per person, free for those under 18 courtesy of the Stewart’s grant.
Jessie R. Fyfe
Petersburgh – Jessie R. Fyfe, 79, died Tuesday evening, November 1, 2011, at the Hoosick Falls Health Center in Hoosick Falls, NY. Her daughters and a granddaughter were at her side when, after a ten year long illness, she passed peacefully from this life.
Born October 10, 1932, in Petersburgh, NY, she was a daughter of Walter and Cora (Jones) Weeden. During the Korean War fate would have it her family gave a ride to Steven Fyfe, a handsome soldier from Maine who happened to be hitchhiking through Petersburgh. They corresponded and, upon his return from service in October 1952, began a long and happy marriage.

Alan Webster Poetry Reading At The Petersburgh Library
Everyone is invited to the Petersburgh Public Library for a poetry reading. On Wednesday, November 2, at 7 pm Alan Webster Sr. will be doing an original poetry reading from his collection of poems entitled “Night Thoughts.”

Petersburgh Town Board Action – Irene Causes Cash Flow Shortage In Petersburgh

Petersburgh Supervisor Peter Schaaphok said the Town has a cash flow problem because of the extraordinary expenses of repairing roads damaged by Hurricane Irene. He said highway bills to be approved for payment at this month’s Board meeting totaled $128,000 but there are only $111,000 of highway funds on hand.
