As a result of a Stewart’s Christmas/Matching Fund grant, San Damiano Family Support Services in Petersburgh wants to help one child a month for the next 12 months whose parent is a wounded veteran. 50th Reunion Of The BCS Class Of 1961
On June 4, Bonita Maxon, Sylvia Thompson and Connie Goodermote planned a picnic which was held at the home of Bonita Maxon at the Dyken Pond. One third of our class met; some spouses attended. We had an enjoyable time meeting classmates that we had not seen since graduation 50 years ago. We held a raffle, shared much memorabilia and life experiences.

The History Of The Petersburgh Veterans Memorial Hall
Peter Schaaphok, Roger LeMere, Mason Hubbard and Rolland Hewitt have had a great time researching the history of the Petersburgh Veterans Memorial Hall and will present its history at the monthly meeting of the Taconic Valley Historical Society on Monday, July 18, at 7:30 pm at the Veterans Hall, 71 Main Street, Petersburgh. The meeting is free and open to the public. Following the program, refreshments will be served. Please join us for this special evening.

Two year old Saige Iris Myers of Babcock Lake in Grafton visits the Moses Cemetery with her parents, Zachary Patrick and Megan Phyfe Myers, in light of Independence Day and in honor of a local ancestor who began to fight for our independence during the American Revolution more than 235 years ago. Petersburgh Town Board Action – Proposal To Discontinue Four Town Roads

The Petersburgh Town Board began its meeting June 20 with a discussion with Planning Board Chairman Dave Miller about the Town’s inventory of Town roads. He focused on four roads that the Town no longer maintains but have never been formally discontinued as Town roads. These are Tifft Road, White Road, Spencer Hollow Road and Reynolds Road.

Humphrey Family Impresses County Legislature

At Tuesday’s meeting of the Rensselaer County Legislature thirteen members of the family of Fred A. Humphrey of Petersburgh gathered to receive copies of the resolution passed last month memorializing him. Humphrey died on April 14, 2011. Vice Chairman of the Legislature, Stan Brownell, who represents the towns of Petersburgh, Berlin, Stephentown, Grafton, Hoosick and the Village of Hoosick Falls, made the presentation accompanied by the other District Five Legislator Lester Goodermote.
