The Petersburgh Fire Department is in need of junk cars to use for extrication training. Murray Saunders has agreed to pick them up for the Department and store them until they are used. Petersburgh Fire Dept. Installation

The Petersburgh Fire Department celebrated 70 years of service at its Annual Installation Dinner on April 30. The Fire Department was first organized in 1921 soon after fire hydrants were installed in the hamlet of Petersburgh, but it had limited equipment and only covered the water district where the hydrants were. Berlin Transfer Station Fees Change
Attention Berlin and Petersburgh residents. Due to new environmental regulations there have been some changes in the fees to dispose of materials at the Berlin Transfer Station. The changes are – computer monitors will cost $6 or three tickets. All televisions will cost $10 or five tickets. Propane tanks will cost $2 or 1 ticket.
Fluorescent, incandescent and flood lamps can be dropped for free. Computers, VCRs, microwaves and small appliances, etc. can now be dropped for free. A list of disposal costs is available from the Berlin Town Clerk and the Petersburgh Town Clerk and on the Berlin Town website (http://berlin-ny.us/).
Petersburgh Rod and Gun Club Annual Turkey Shoot
The Petersburgh Rod and Gun Club annual turkey shoots will be held on May 15 and May 22 (rain date June 5 ) at the Petersburgh Rod and Gun Club on Scriven Road. The event starts at noon. Spend an afternoon filled with fun, food (hot dogs, hamburgers, homemade pies) and raffles, just to mention a few. Families are encouraged. We will also be holding our summer long 50/50 raffle.
