PVMCC would like to extend a warm and heartfelt thank you to Byron and Susan Dawes and family for creating and donating their time to cook an Appreciation Breakfast for our Veterans. The food and atmosphere was enjoyed by all who attended. We hope to do this again next year.

The Petersburgh Public Library invites children of all ages to drop in at the Library on Saturday, February 12, any time from 10 to noon to create a Valentine Day’s craft. This is the kick-off for our Second Saturday Kids Crafts series. There will be more craft programs on Saturdays – March 12, April 9, May 14 and June 11. All materials will be provided, and you are invited to join us and be creative!!

Freeing Charles At The Poestenkill Historical Society
The Poestenkill Historical Society will be celebrating Black History Month with a special presentation on Tuesday, February 22, at the Poestenkill Town Hall on Rt. 351 at 7 pm. Author Scott Christianson from Sand Lake will discuss his book Freeing Charles and the history of the Underground Railroad. The public is welcome.

Amber Walker from Petersburgh, a History/Childhood Education major at Russell Sage College, has been placed on the Dean’s List for the fall 2010 semester. Dean’s List students have achieved a semester grade point average of at least 3.4 while carrying a course load of at least 12 credits.

Petersburgh Boy Scout Troop #222 Excels At The Klondike Derby

On January 29 the Boy Scout Mahikan District hosted over 240 scouts at the annual Klondike Derby at Camp Rotary. The Klondike Derby is a hands-on scout adventure where patrols of scouts compete in winter survival and teamwork challenges. Patsos Named To Juniata College Dean’s List
Juniata College has named 363 students to the dean’s list for the 2010 fall semester. The dean’s list recognizes grade point averages of at least 3.6 out of a possible 4.0. Among those honored is Matina Stephanie Patsos of Petersburgh. She is a senior studying digital media and media communications. Patsos, the daughter of Judy Patsos, is a 2007 graduate of Berlin Senior High School.
