Cub Scout Pack 911 Pinewood Derby

The atmosphere Saturday afternoon, April 10, was full of children’s excitement and anticipation at the Pinewood Derby. Cub Scout Pack 911 held the double elimination event at the Petersburgh Baptist Church. Cheyenne Seel Brings Home The Gold
Cheyenne Seel recently returned from Owego, NY, where she participated in the STAR (Students Taking Action for Recognition) Events Program at the NYS FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) Meeting. Fund Raiser For Kianna

Petersburgh Town Board Action – Town Needs New Gas Tank

Petersburgh Town Highway Superintendent Ray Harrison said representatives from the State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) have been visiting town highway garages all around the area and inspecting them for compliance with environmental regulations. Their inspection of Petersburgh’s facilities and operations found no violations, but Harrison said, “They want us to remove the in-ground gas tank and put in an above-ground tank.”

The Berlin Limner
Matthew McKeeby, The Berlin Limner, will be the guest speaker at the April 19 meeting of the Taconic Valley Historical Society. A limner is simply an artist or painter. The term has come to be used specifically in reference to painters in the North American Colonies who worked during the 18th and 19th centuries. Limners once traveled the countryside providing any and all painting services.

The Petersburgh Veterans Memorial Community Center is holding a Teen Night on Friday, April 9, from 7 to 9:30 pm. This program will be supervised by Kasson Sauer, and DJ music will be provided by Aaron Willis. There will be complimentary root beer floats for all! The entrance fee is $2.
