Little Hoosic Watershed Association Annual Meeting

The Little Hoosic Watershed Association  annual meeting will be held on Monday, March 22, at 7 pm at the Petersburgh Veterans Memorial Hall. The public is welcome. Agenda items include a review of work completed in 2009, the election of the Board of Directors and an update on projects planned for 2010.

On Friday, March 19, Music & Art Café will welcome Tophenjamin! Tophenjamin is the brand new acoustic music duo of Christopher Lane (Hill Hollow Band and ROMP) on guitar and his brother Benjamin Lane on mandolin. Twenty two years in the making, this band of brothers plays anything from prog-rock to show tunes and all things in between. The highlight of the band is the undeniable, near-subconscious musical connection between the two players whose harmonies sound as if they ring from a single throat.

TRACs Meeting On March 9

Representatives from the Sheriff’s Department and the New York State Police will attend the next meeting of our community drug and alcohol prevention coalition, TRACs,  on Tuesday, March 9, at 5:30 pm at the Seventh Day Baptist Church in Berlin. The group will discuss ways to work together to reduce the incidence of alcohol and drug abuse among teens in the community.  Community members who are interested in learning more about how our towns can work more closely with local law enforcement are invited to attend. Petersburgh Ambulance Squad Hosts Mandatory Training

According to Amy Manchester, the mandatory training for emergency responders on February 13 was a huge success. Berlin had seven members attending, Grafton had five, Petersburgh had seven, Stephentown had five, Pittstown had five and Doris Lewis of Pittstown attended for CPR training.
