Ballet Students To Dance In Professional Production of “The Nutcracker”

Five students from Miss Olivia’s British School of Ballet in Hoosick Falls auditioned for parts in the Christmas Ballet “The Nutcracker” All five girls received parts. Cheney Library Offers Shopping Opportunity For Kids!

Calling all kids! Come and shop for your parents, brothers and sisters, grandparents, aunts and uncles. The elves have been bringing lots of gifts to Cheney Library. As soon as you pick them out they will be wrapped and a gift tag put on ready for giving. The Holiday Shop is for all children and will be open Saturday, December 3 at Cheney Library in Hoosick Falls, NY from 9 am to 1 pm. All gifts are between 50 cents and $1. This is the same day as the First Saturday Book Sale. So be sure to take advantage of this fantastic offer to shop locally.

Rensselaer County Legislative Action

At its November 8 meeting, the Rensselaer County Legislature took action on a variety of topics. One of the most notable was a resolution that requested State review of potential abuse of Medicaid-funded ambulance transport. The legislation states the County has learned from various emergency service providers of “chronic callers,” who while receiving public assistance and Medicaid, call for ambulance transport on numerous occasions for issues that are not life-threatening or serious medical emergencies. Taconic Signs Consent Order With DEC, Holding It Responsible For PFOA Contamination In Petersburgh

New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Commissioner Basil Seggos announced November 12 that the State has executed a Consent Order that holds Tonoga Inc., (otherwise known as “Taconic”) legally responsible for addressing the perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) contamination in the Petersburgh area.
