Southern Vermont College (SVC) is pleased to exhibit “Catastrophe Hats and Other Recent Works” by Southern Vermont artist Maggi Randall. The exhibit is available for viewing June 4 through July 8 in Everett Mansion’s Burgdorff Gallery. The public and friends of the artist are encouraged to attend Randall’s opening reception on Saturday, June 4, from 3 to 5 pm. in the Gallery. The Gallery is open Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm and on weekends by arrangement with the Campus Safety Office. EPA Sets New Health Standard For PFOA At 70 Parts Per Trillion

On Thursday May 19, The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency issued a revised health advisory for PFOA and PFOS, which establishes 70 parts per trillion as the standard. Water with a greater concentration than 70 parts per trillion should not be used on a long-term basis as drinking water. DEC Declares Taconic Plastics Site in Petersburgh a State Superfund Site

For Cleanup Of PFOA Contamination

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has designated Taconic Plastics as a state superfund site in order to give the state additional authority to ensure that all remedial measures are carried out to expeditiously clean up perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) contamination in the Town of Petersburgh, New York. Berlin School Vote

The Berlin Central School District’s proposed 2016-2017 budget of $19,560,875 easily passed at the polls Tuesday night.
