Registration for new students in kindergarten – 12th grade is held at the Berlin Middle High School Counseling Office, which is located at 17400 NY 22, Cherry Plain, NY 12040. NYSDOT Paving Project Tying Up Traffic On Route 22

Complaints have been heard for years about the State not repaving the deteriorated roadway of Route 22, and now drivers held up by the paving project are gnashing their teeth because it is being done.
The State paved a section of Route 22 last summer from Stephentown up to Cherry Plain, and they are now picking up where they left off, doing a 9.2 mile section from Cherry Plain to Route 2. [Read more…] about NYSDOT Paving Project Tying Up Traffic On Route 22
Troop 222 Goes To Summer Camp

The Boys of Troop 222 out of Petersburgh ventured over the mountain to Rotary Scout Reservation in Poestenkill. The troop sent fourteen scouts and three leaders to camp on July 19 for a week of outdoor scouting. The boys stayed in the Onondaga campsite and picked up three additional scouts called Provos. Permanent Building Inspector And Assistant Hired
At its regular monthly meeting July 20, the Petersburgh Town Board appointed Craig Surprise as the permanent Building Inspector, and appointed Nathan Michaels as Assistant Building Inspector. County Health Department Warns Of Tick Borne Disease: Reported Cases of Anaplasmosis Have Sharply Increased In Rensselaer County
The Rensselaer County Health Department is urging residents to take precautions to prevent exposure to tick borne diseases including Lyme, Anaplasmosis, and Babesiosis.
The warning stems from a significant increase in the number of cases of Anaplasmosis found in Rensselaer County in 2015 particularly in the Hoosick Falls/Petersburgh region. Jimino: County Kicks Off Summer Food Program
Rensselaer County Executive Kathleen M. Jimino recently announced the start of the County’s Summer Food Program, which is a collaborative effort by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), the New York State Education Department, and Rensselaer County that provides the opportunity for children under the age of eighteen to receive nutritious meals when school is not in session. Rensselaer County has sponsored the program since 1974.
“A well balanced diet is crucial to the health of every child and this program ensures that the youth of our community who depend on their schools for their nutrition have access to well balanced meals throughout the summer,” stated Jimino.
