Local constituents contacted Rensselaer County Legislators about the legality of a solicitation they received from New York Record Retrieval, Inc. offering to obtain a certified copy of their deed for what seemed to be an excessive charge.

New Open Burning Law Still Not Needed in Rural Areas

Quadricentennial Celebration Events Calendar Available

Jimino has announced the release of the County’s Quadricentennial Calendar of events celebrating the 400th anniversary of the voyages of Henry Hudson and Samuel de Champlain, as well as the 200th Anniversary of Robert Fulton’s maiden journey up the Hudson River on the first successful steamboat.

County Urges Caution On Lyme Disease

Rensselaer County Executive Kathleen M. Jimino is urging residents to take proper precautions in order to defend themselves from exposure to Lyme disease. Last year their were 542 probable or confirmed cases of the disease in Rensselaer County.

NYS AG Office: A Resource For Seniors

Timothy Clune, Chief of the Health Care Bureau of the Office of NYS Attorney General Andrew Cuomo assured everyone attending the ROUSE (Rensselaer Organization United for Senior Endeavors) meeting at the Hoosick Falls Senior Center on Wednesday, May 20, that when they called his office there would be no “touch tone torture.”
