The Veterans of Stephentown will hold a Texas Hold’em Tournament on Saturday, January 12, in the Stephentown Fire Hall, located at 35 Grange Hall Road in Stephentown. The doors will open at 5 pm and close at 6 pm. Play begins at 6:15 sharp.
A free buffet will be served at the first break.

Stephentown Town Board Action – Town Won’t Take Elementary School Property

Stephentown will pass on buying the former elementary school property for $1. Town Supervisor Larry Eckhardt said at the Town Board meeting Monday that the President of the Berlin School Board has advised him that the School District will proceed to mothball the building that was formerly the Stephentown Elementary School and the property will be put back on the market for sale. Eckhardt and Board Members had met with representatives of the School Board but could not reach agreement on transferring the property to the Town. East Nassau – Catherine L. “Kay” Shuhart Mabeus, 74, of Hanky Mull Hill Road, East Nassau, NY, died on Saturday, December 15, 2012, at Albany Memorial Hospital after a valiant and courageous fight against cancer under the care of Community Hospice of Rensselaer County. Her husband Robert J. “Bob” Mabeus, Sr., 75, died suddenly at home on Saturday a short time later.

Stephentown ZBA Closer To Decision On Motocross Park

The Stephentown Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) has been deliberating on Howard Commander’s proposal for a Motocross park in the south end of town since May of 2010. The regular meetings on this topic usually draw a sizable crowd from both the pro and the con side and the meeting on Tuesday of this week was no exception. It may be, however, that the ZBA is now actually approaching decision time. With the public comment period for the Draft Environmental Impact Statement concluding on Tuesday, the project now moves to the final EIS stage.

Post Office Hours In Berlin, Grafton and Cherry Plain To Be Cut Back – But Not Right Away

The Lebanon Valley Speedway is attempting to overturn zoning laws for the motocross track.
Think the racetrack is noisy now? Plans are underway for a 6 am start on Sundays with roaring motors and all day races until 9 pm. A group of concerned citizens within a 5 mile radius is working to stop this zoning change covering the towns of New Lebanon and Stephentown.
