Stephentown Man Arrested For Alleged Kidnapping

On Tuesday, August 14, the NY State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation and uniform personnel in Schodack investigated a report of a kidnapping on State Route 20 in the Town of Nassau. The investigation into the reported incident revealed that Sean W. Conklin, 24, of 14 Browns Road in Stephentown, broke into a residence on State Route 20 in Nassau at about noon on the 14th and, during a verbal altercation with his ex-girlfriend, forced her into the vehicle he was operating and headed east on State Route 20.

Howard Commander’s Draft Environmental Impact Statement for his proposed Motocross park was deemed not yet adequate for public review by the Stephentown Zoning Board of Appeals at their meeting on August 2. The Board accepted a recommendation from their consulting engineer, Michael Bianchino of Clough Harbour Associates (CHA), who had reviewed the DEIS and found a number of areas lacking sufficient information. Don’t Miss The Excitement At The Stephentown Memorial Library
Free Daily Lunch For Kids Through August 17
The Stephentown Library is pleased to have been chosen as an open feeding site through this federally funded lunch program. We will be serving a healthy bag lunch each weekday from 12 to 1 pm in the community room. There is no charge and no income or residency requirement. No preregistration is required. All children 18 and under are encouraged to take advantage of this program. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The program will run until August 17, Monday through Friday.

Texas Hold’em In Stephentown
The Veterans of Stephentown and the Stephentown Fire Department will sponsor a joint Texas Hold’em Tournament on Saturday, August 18, in the Stephentown Fire Hall, located at 35 Grange Hall Road in Stephentown. The doors will open at 5 pm and close at 6 pm. Play begins at 6:15 sharp.
A free buffet will be served at the first break and refreshments will be available.
