Cub Scout Pack 911 Sign Up

Cub Scout Pack 911 will be having a sign up for the upcoming school year on August 13 at the Stephentown Fire Hall, located on Grange Hall Road, from 5 to 7 pm.  Any boys in first through fifth grade are eligible to join.  For more information, please contact Samantha Bink at 733-6729.  For information on joining Boy Scout Troop 222, please contact Jim Akers at 728-0352.

Stephentown Historical Society Community Tag Sale

The Stephentown Historical Society will host the fifteenth annual Community Tag Sale on Saturday, July 28, at the grassy field south of Gardner’s Coffee Shop on Route 22 in Stephentown.  Gather your items to sell for yourself or to donate to support the Society.  Selling spaces are available for individuals or other organizations for $10. The tag sale will run from 9 am to 3 pm, with a rain date of Sunday, July 29.

Bo Ryan Montanye Graduates From Colgate University

Bo Ryan Montanye, from Stephentown, graduated recently with a B.A. in Geology and Classical Studies from Colgate University. Montanye was one of 661 students to graduate with the Class of 2012, representing a graduation rate of 89.7%, which is among the highest in the nation.
Mark H. Murphy ’77, President and CEO of the Green Bay Packers, delivered an inspiring keynote address to a packed house.

Stephentown – Marion Thomas Adams, 83, of NY Route 22, Stephentown, NY, passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at the Whittier Nursing Center in Ghent, NY.
Born in Pittsfield, MA, on May 9,1929, she was the daughter of the late Frank Thomas and Rose Merritt Thomas, both of Stephentown. She was the wife of the late Myron Wesley “Wes” Adams, Sr., whom she married on September 10, 1949, in Berlin, NY.

Stephentown Town Board Action – Stephentown To Pursue Elementary School Ownership

The Stephentown Town Board has given the go-ahead to their attorney to start reviewing the proposed contract with the Berlin School District for assuming ownership of the property of the former Stephentown Elementary School. At their meeting on Monday the Board passed a resolution authorizing Craig Crist of the Dreyer Boyajian law firm to look over the contract in detail, highlight what needs to be addressed and report back to the Board prior to their next Workshop meeting on August 13.
