Hopkins is a marketing and PR consultant and also historian for Crane & Company. Local author, Lori Szepelak, will discuss her spiritual journey which began in Hancock, MA, and led to the publication of her recently released book, An Angel On My Shoulder. She will also explain how all of us can experience our own journey with the angels that surround us. Her book chronicles her spiritual journey with angels. Lori is a photographer, public relations professional and writer. She lives in Western Massachusetts with her family. Light refreshments will be served.

Stephentown – Theresa L. Hammersmith Williamson, 76, of Grange Hall Road, Stephentown, NY, died on Saturday, June 9, 2012, after being stricken at her home.

Garfield Road Bridge Under Construction; Lengthy Detours Ensue

A crew from Bette & Cring Construction Group of Latham started work on Monday on replacing the Garfield Road bridge that crosses Black Brook in the southwestern corner of Stephentown. The bridge is located at the intersection with the lower end of Gentile Road. Access to East Nassau from Stephentown will entail lengthy detours for about three months.

• Local Photographer Show & Reception – Sunday, June 10, from 2 to 4 pm. Local photographer, Erin Hanlon, will share her work in a show entitled, A Local View. Erin Hanlon grew up in Richmond, VT. She began taking pictures to share some of the wonderful local views with friends and family. She spent many summers in Stephentown with her grandparents, Calvin and Virginia Atwater, and eventually moved to Stephentown where she lived for 8 years. Antique And Book Appraisal Day In Stephentown
The Friends of the Stephentown Library are holding an Antique and Book Appraisal Day on Saturday, June 16, at the Stephentown Heritage Center from 10 am to 1 pm. Charles Flint of Charles Flint Antiques, Lenox, MA, and Dan Lorber of Down in Denver Books, Stephentown, will be on hand to identify and give verbal appraisals of your treasures. Local Students On SUNY Geneseo Dean’s List
The State University of New York at Geneseo has announced its Dean’s List for the spring semester 2012. To be on the list, a student must have achieved a 3.5 grade point average while taking at least 12 credit hours.

Timber Harvesting And Chestnut Restoration Tour
The public is invited to attend a special two part forestry event on Saturday, June 16, starting at 10 am at 231 Brainard Road, Averill Park to see how locally grown timber is sustainably harvested on the Rensselaer Plateau. This logging operation is managed by LandVest for the Forestland Group (former Cowee property). The harvest is being done by a local contractor and is intended to increase growth on residual crop trees while also starting a new forest of oak, pine and hemlock.
