Cantering Cowpokes Elect Officers

The 4-H Cantering Cowpokes horse club of Stephentown has kicked off the young year in great style by electing its officers. They are Emma Woolley, President, Sarah French, Vice President, Jackson Burhans, Treasurer, and Christina Shupe, Secretary and news reporter.
Club members have been learning about the anatomy of horses and their unique markings. If any child age 9 to 14 is interested in joining, please contact Betty Gutermuth at 518-658-2192.

Stephentown Future Meeting Number Two

Stephentown Veterans Trip To Washington, DC

The Veterans of Stephentown, are planning a three day bus trip to Washington, DC, on September 12 – 14. The package includes two nights lodging, two breakfasts and two dinners plus a guided city tour of Washington, DC, to view The White House, U.S. Capital, Lincoln Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, FDR Memorial, Washington Monument and World War II, Korean and Vietnam Veterans Memorials. Texas Hold’em In Stephentown

The Veterans of Stephentown will hold a Texas Hold’em Tournament on Saturday, March 10, in the Stephentown Fire Hall, located at 35 Grange Hall Road in Stephentown. The doors will open at 5 pm and close at 6 pm. Play begins at 6:15 sharp.

Haley Named To President’s List At SUNYIT

Alexander Haley of Stephentown has been named to the President’s List for the fall 2011 semester at SUNYIT. A semester grade point average of 3.60 or above qualifies full time, matriculated students for inclusion on the President’s List.

Stephentown To Present Plan To Take Over Elementary School

The Stephentown Town Board has accepted the offer from the Berlin School Board to present a proposal for assuming ownership of the now vacant Stephentown Elementary School property. The School Board last month voted to request both the Stephentown Board and the Grafton Fire District to submit tentative plans by March 6 for the properties of the vacant elementary school properties in their respective towns.
