Stephentown Town Board Remains Neutral On Gas Pipeline

The Stephentown Town Board is not at this time taking any position regarding Kinder Morgan’s proposed gas pipeline, but they are listening to citizens’ concerns and plan to stay involved. Girl Scouts Collect 500 Pounds Of Food For Local Food Pantries

Girl Scout Service Unit 154, comprising seven local girl scout troops,  worked with community organizations throughout the month of December to collect food for food pantries in Berlin, Grafton, Petersburgh and Stephentown and at the Berlin Elementary School.  Their efforts resulted in 500 pounds of donated food and several generous donations of cash. Stephentown Volunteer Fire Department Texas Hold’em

The Stephentown Volunteer Fire Department will hold a Texas Hold’em Tournament on Saturday, January 31, in the Stephentown Fire Hall, located at 35 Grange Hall Road in Stephentown. The doors will open at 5:30 pm and close at 6 pm. Play begins at 6:15 sharp. No advance registration is required.

A donation of $35 per player will be accepted and give the player 7,500 in chip value. Players can make an additional $10 donation at the door for 2,500 extra in chip value. This tournament will pay one place for every ten players with a minimum of four places and a maximum of nine places.

A free buffet will be served at the first break, and refreshments will be available.

Meeting In Nassau On High Pressure Gas Pipeline

A high pressure gas pipeline proposed to pass through the towns of Schodack, Nassau and Stephentown drew a large crowd of concerned residents to St. Mary’s Church in Nassau last Saturday where the group Stop NY Fracked Gas Pipeline (SNYFGP) was holding its first public meeting since the pipeline’s route shifted north from New Lebanon, Canaan and Chatham.

Veterans Of Stephentown Texas Hold’em

The Veterans of Stephentown will hold a Texas Hold’em Tournament on Saturday, January 17, in the Stephentown Fire Hall, located at 35 Grange Hall Road in Stephentown. The doors will open at 5:30 pm and close at 6 pm. Play begins at 6:15 sharp. No advance registration is required.

Starting in December 2014, the total chip count was raised to 10,000 without raising the donations. Now, a donation of $35 per player will be accepted and give the player 7,500 in chip value. Players can make an additional $10 donation at the door for 2,500 extra in chip value. This tournament will pay one place for every ten players with a minimum of four places and a maximum of nine places.

A free buffet will be served at the first break, and refreshments will be available.
