Stephentown Town Board Action – Land Use Regulations Revised

As the initial step in developing a Master Plan for the Town, Stephentown’s Land Use Regulations are being updated. After three public hearings, notices posted and completion of the State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) process, the Stephentown Town Board, at their meeting on Monday, finally passed a resolution adopting some amendments to the Land Use Regulations. The amendments were recommended by a special committee appointed three years ago by the Town Board as well as by the Planning Board and the Zoning Board of Appeals.

Stephentown Easter Egg Hunt
Veterans Of Stephentown Texas Hold’em
The Veterans of Stephentown will hold a Texas Hold’em Tournament on Saturday, May 3, in the Stephentown Fire Hall, located at 35 Grange Hall Road in Stephentown. The doors will open at 5:30 pm and close at 6 pm. Play begins at 6:15 sharp.
No advance registration is required. A donation of $35 per player will be accepted and give the player 6,000 in chip value. Players can make an additional $10 donation at the door for 2,000 extra in chip value. This tournament will pay one place for every 10 players with a minimum of four places and a maximum of 9 places.
A free buffet will be served at the first break, and refreshments will be available.

Stephentown Volunteer Fire Department Roast Beef Dinner
The Stephentown Volunteer Fire Department will hold an all you can eat Roast Beef Dinner on Saturday, April 26, in the Stephentown Fire Hall, 35 Grange Hall Road in Stephentown from 4 to 7 pm.
Adult all you can eat dinners cost $12, children age 6-10 dinners cost $7 and youth ages 5 and under eat free. Take-out dinners will be available for $10 each. Advance registration is not required.
Hoffman Found Guilty In Baker Death

The jury in the trial of Brendan Hoffman, the 22 year old Stephentown man accused of manslaughter and homicide charges, as well as leaving the scene of a 2012 accident, found Hoffman guilty on 12 counts last Friday.
The guilty charges include vehicular manslaughter and homicide. Three counts of aggravated vehicular homicide and one count of reckless driving were dismissed by Judge Debra Young due to a lack of evidence.
TRACs Meeting
The TRACs (Together Reducing drugs and Alcohol in our CommunitieS) regular monthly meeting will be held on April 22 at 6:30 pm at Stephentown Memorial Library. Come join us as we collaborate in order to make a difference in the lives of the youth in the Berlin and New Lebanon School Districts in our effort to reduce youth use of alcohol and drugs.
Our mission statement, “to encourage a drug-free lifestyle for youth, support families and provide community-based pro-social alternatives,” requires the support of many community members, organizations and businesses. We look forward to your participation.
