A presentation by Questar III BOCES of their report on the District’s learning environment was the subject of most of the September meeting of the Berlin School Board last Tuesday.
The study, which began in March 2015, was conducted with the purpose of “maximizing student achievement” in the District, according to Jane King, one of the members from the Questar III team who documented their findings in the District. Berlin Modified Girls Volleyball Wins At Home
On Monday the modified girls volleyball team got their first win of the season against Waterford. Strong serving by Brooke Deshane, Skylar Jordan, Sierra Pettibone and Carly Church led the team to its victory. Solid play by the rest of the team kept Berlin dominant throughout each game. The girls play home next Tuesday against New Lebanon and Friday against Hawthorne; games begin at 4 pm.
Sticker Shock Event On September 2

Students from the Berlin High School and TRAC’s (Together Reducing Alcohol and drugs in our CommunitieS) participated in the Sticker Shock Campaign at the Stewart’s in Berlin, N.Y. , before the Labor Day weekend, when a larger than usual amount of alcohol is sold. Berlin Schools Fall Festival Is October 3
The Berlin Middle/Senior High School is hosting a Fall Festival on October 3 from 11 am to 3 pm. Games, Food, Vendors, Haunted House, Pumpkin and Mum sales will be topped off with a Magic Show in the evening. All members of the community are invited to share in this fun filled day.

Katie Mellett, a Junior at BCS, serves as State Vice President of Finance and was one of forty-five representatives from New York to the National Leadership Meeting July 4 to 9 in Washington DC. Berlin Central School District Registration Day
Registration for new students in kindergarten – 12th grade is held at the Berlin Middle High School Counseling Office, which is located at 17400 NY 22, Cherry Plain, NY 12040. Berlin Central Schools’ Inaugural “School Within A School” Class Graduates 100 Percent Of Students
The very first graduating class of Berlin’s “School within a School” program saw a 100-percent success rate with all 13 students receiving a high school diploma.
