Class Of 2014 Pizza Night And Shop On The Avenue

On Friday, December 13, the Berlin HS Class of 2014 will be holding its next Pizza Night fundraiser, and we are combining it with Shop on the Avenue. We are still looking for local crafters and vendors to register for spaces. The cost of each space is $10 and the money will be donated to the high school Student Council Operation Support Our Troops. Shop on the Avenue is from 5 to 8 pm. If you are interested in reserving a space, please contact Karen Day at the high school at 658-2515 or by email, kday@berlincentral.org.

As for Pizza Night, you can order hot, fresh pizzas by emailing Karen Day up to 2:30 Friday afternoon and then by phone at 658-2515 ext. 209. Pizzas cost $8 and toppings cost $1 each. Toppings include pepperoni, sausage, ham, bacon, mushrooms, black olives, peppers, onions, pineapple, broccoli and jalapeños. Pizzas are available from 4 to 7 pm.

BCS Superintendent Of Schools Gets A Contract Extension And A Raise

At a special meeting held on November 7, the Berlin Central School Board unanimously agreed  to offer the School District’s current Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Stephen Young, a three year extension of his existing contract.

Shop On The Avenue At BCS

The Berlin HS senior class is looking for crafters and vendors for this year’s Shop-on-the-Avenue. It will be held Friday, December 13, from 5 to 8 pm at the MS/HS. Spaces are available for $10 and set-up begins at 3 pm. If you are interested in booking a space, please contact Karen Day by phone at 658-2515 or by email, kday@berlincentral.org, as soon as possible. The proceeds from this event will be donated to the high school Student Council’s Operation Support Our Troops to purchase items needed by the service men and women overseas.

Grafton Trail Blazers Logo Contest

The Grafton Trail Blazers snowmobile club is looking for a new logo. We are opening a logo contest to high school students from Tamarac High School and Berlin High School.

A finalist will be picked from each school by the Club. Each finalist will be awarded a $50 prize, and each school will receive a $100 donation to the art department.

The two finalists will have their submissions posted to our Facebook page and the public can “like” the logo of their choice. The logo with the most likes will be the winner of the Facebook contest and will be awarded an additional $100 prize and an additional $150 will be given to that school’s art department.

The contest entries must be submitted to the Grafton Trail Blazers snowmobile club no later than December 1, 2013. The schools will be notified by December 9 of their finalist and their logos submitted to our facebook page (GRAFTON TRAILBLAZERS) for the winner to be determined. The logo with the most “likes” by January 1 will win the contest.

Dinner Theater At Berlin MS/HS

On Friday, November 22, the Berlin “Dramateers” will be presenting a dinner theater at the Berlin MS/HS.  The performance is a murder mystery in which the audience members become the detectives during the show.  Dinner begins at 6 pm and the show starts at 7 pm.  The dinner includes ziti, salad and bread.

Berlin Middle School/High School Boys Cross Country Finishes Fourth In Sectionals

The Berlin Middle School/High School boys Cross Country Team finished its season this past Friday in Queensbury at the Section 2 Championships.  The boys came up just short of the top three, finishing in fourth place.  Evan Dawes came in 14th with a time of 18:14. He was followed by Jackson Burhans who finished 16th with a time of 18:28, and Nick Styer who finished 25th with a time of 18:57.  Alex Flowers finished 32nd with a time of 19:32; Travis Riccardi finished 36th with a time of 19:40; Charlie Eaton finished with a time of 21:40, Tim Shupe finished with a time of 23:40, and Chris Corrado finished with a time of 24:23.  The team will not be graduating any seniors and looks forward to next year to get even stronger.  Junior Evan Dawes, sophomore Jackson Burhans and eighth-grader Nick Styer  made the  WASAREN league All-Star team.  The team was able to regularly place in the top half of all the invitationals it competed in and was even ranked in the State at one point.

BCS November Pizza Night

On Friday, November 15, the Class of 2014 will host a pizza night. As always you can order a hot fresh pizza for just $8 with sauce or without. Toppings are $1 each – pepperoni, sausage, ham, mushroom, onion, black olives, jalapenos, green pepper, pineapple, broccoli and our newest topping, bacon. You can order pizzas online before 2:30 pm on Friday by emailing Karen Day at kday@berlincentral.org or by calling the Berlin Central School at 658-2515 ext 209 after 3 on Friday. We have invested in new pans and are looking forward to making a lot of pies.

ORPS To Talk About STAR
