Taconic Valley Youth Basketball, sponsored by PVMCC will hold a sign-up night on Tuesday, October 22, from 6 to 8 pm at the Petersburgh Veterans Memorial Community Center. This program is open to all children within the Berlin Central School District in first through sixth grade.
New this year is the CYO Travel League for fifth and sixth-graders. The cost for first and second grade is $25, for third/fourth grade, $40, for fifth/sixth grade, $50.
Coaches and assistant coaches are needed. Come to sign-up night for more information, or call Kyle Jansen at 658-0080.

Everybody Gets Along In BCS Board Meetings

Berlin School Board meetings aren’t what they used to be, which was long, rambling and argumentative. Now they are over in little less than an hour. There is no arguing, and everyone seems to get along.
Tuesday’s meeting was just such an example of the new meeting style. The only real discussion came about in regards to how new technologies will be dealt with in the District.

Mountaineer Boys JV Soccer Off To A Strong Start

The Berlin boys JV soccer team is off to one of its best starts with 17 team members ranging from eighth to tenth grades. Having a full roster has made it very competitive to get playing time, and the guys have stepped up by practicing hard and getting extra playing experience outside of the regular season. A solid core of returning players has benefited from new players both moving up from the modified team and trying soccer for the first time.

Berlin Boys Soccer Wins The New Lebanon Tournament

The Berlin Boys Soccer team started the season winning the New Lebanon Tournament.
On Thursday, September 5, in the New Lebanon tournament the Mountaineers played St. Joseph of Pittsfield. BCS Girls Soccer Takes Second At The New Lebanon Tournament

The Berlin Girls varsity soccer team took second place in the New Lebanon Tournament last weekend. In the first game against St. Joe’s of Pittsfield the Lady Mountaineers dominated possession and had many scoring opportunities finally breaking through with a goal by Jewel Pietrzk in the first half. BCS JV Boys Off To A Good Start

The Berlin boys JV soccer team is off to a good start with a 2-1 record. The team is a mix of returning and new players. After beginning the season with wins over Hoosic Valley and Mt. Everett they faced a steady HV team for their first home match. Both teams battled back and forth without a goal for most of the first half before HV got off a long kick and made the first point.
