It is hard for me to believe that we are here, sitting on this stage about to graduate high school. It seems like only yesterday that we were sitting in kindergarten getting to know each other over crayons and puzzles. And yet as I look back, I could not be more proud of my classmates as I look at how much we have grown.

Local Students Compete In W.J. Cowee Program for International Commerce

Two teams of students from Berlin Central High School competed for a scholarship prize when they presented their solutions to a theoretical international business problem from a case study. The focus of this year’s challenge was Caterpillar, Inc., one of the leading US companies with a strong global brand. The presentations, which were open to the public, took place on Monday, June 15, at Berlin Central High School in Cherry Plain.

CHVL Baseball All-Stars
This week the Central Hudson Valley League announced its All-Star teams for baseball. Senior Fred Morine of Berlin was the only local player named to the First Team. On the Second Team were Eric Remington of Berlin and Kyle McHugh of New Lebanon. New Lebanon’s Erich Lowe was named an Honorable Mention All-Star.
BCS Students Studying Science In The Summer
Middle school students from the Berlin Central School District will be spending part of their summer continuing to study science programs at various colleges and programs. Students will experience hands on lab activities, explore the newest technology, and make new friends.

Gilbert Wins First Ever State Championship for Berlin

In the fifteen years that Jen Burhans has coached the Berlin Track team, she has never had a track for her teams to call home. Practice used to consist of running around the parking lot but, in recent years, has been moved to the lower soccer field, which much of the time they share with a baseball team. The Berlin School Board devoted an hour prior to their meeting Tuesday evening to celebrate the service of five teachers and two school bus drivers who are retiring at of the end of this school year.

BCS Runners Take Home Big Trophies At Sports Awards

Lady Tigers, Lady Mountaineers Softball All-Stars

Two players from the New Lebanon Lady Tigers softball team were named First Team CHVL All-Stars along with one from the Berlin squad. Geneva Furlano and Maggie Springer of New Lebanon and Emily Dooley of Berlin were all on the First Team. The Second Team consisted of New Lebanon players Anne Walker Laier and Kim Blank. Joining them were Deanna Nash and Brittney Spaniol of Berlin.
